Sweet Home isn't revenge in any normal sense. But Hyun-soo's arc, from shutting himself away to fighting to keep other people alive, is its own kind of payback against a world that took everything from him. The target isn't a person. It's the situation.

What keeps it from being shallow is that he remembers how everyone died the first time. This is the softer take. It cares more about rebuilding than about the moment of confrontation, which makes it feel less like wish fulfillment than Doom Breaker. The revenge is slow and cumulative. That cost is social and it adds up. His method has no off switch: he can keep winning fights, but each win raises the stakes on the next one. Only two series here, Bastard and Weak Hero, treat the cost of revenge as non-negotiable. Every other pick makes a trade: a more satisfying payoff in exchange for less accounting of what the hero lost or became along the way.
