Tapas Alternatives: Where to Read 32 Series After It Closes

Tapas alternatives depend on the series, not the platform. We checked all 32 Tapas series we cover on October 24, 2026: 10 have another English home online (WEBTOON, Tappytoon, Manta or Lezhin), 5 only have print and digital volumes from Yen Press or Ize Press, and 17 have no other English edition listed anywhere we looked.

Tapas ends service on March 31, 2027 at 23:59 PT. That's also the last moment to unlock or read anything there, and you haven't been able to buy Ink since October 1. Tapas says unlocked episodes can't be transferred to another Kakao service or platform, so the only route that carries your purchases anywhere is Manta's own program. On October 29 it covered four of our series.

How to Use This List

1. Find your series in the three tables below. We list the English title we use and, where Tapas uses a different one, the Tapas title too.
2. If it has another web home, start reading there now rather than in March. Check the episode count first: the other platform may be ahead of Tapas or behind it.
3. If you bought Solo Leveling, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Tomb Raider King or Lout of Count's Family episodes with Ink, apply to Manta's Move Your Bookshelf before February 28, 2027 (steps further down).
4. If it's print only, the Yen Press or Ize Press volumes are your legal English copy once Tapas goes. Both paperback and digital editions are listed for every volume we checked.
5. If it's Tapas only, spend any Ink you still hold on the episodes you'll want to reread, and read them before March 31. Nothing on this list says those series will get a new English home.

Tapas Alternatives With Another English Web Home

These ten have an English page on at least one other platform. Every link opened on October 24 with the right series title.

Tomb Raider King Korean volume 1 cover (via AniList).

A few of these need more than a name:

• Overgeared is the clearest move. WEBTOON posts it in English every Saturday and already has more episodes than Tapas, though the website shows only up to Episode 49 and the rest is in the app. On October 23 it briefly put Episodes 49 to 308 on the website, and by October 26 they were back behind the app. We covered the Tapas stall in Overgeared Tapas updates stopped.
• Tomb Raider King is marked completed on WEBTOON, but its web list shows only up to Episode 34 and keeps the rest in the app. On October 29 Manta's page listed 411 episodes, with Episodes 1 to 3 marked free and a "Free Pass every 24 hrs" label.
• The Return of the Disaster-Class Hero is "up every Tuesday" on WEBTOON, but the web list shows only the opening episodes. Check the app before you decide it's behind.
• Who Made Me a Princess is still being posted on WEBTOON, one episode every Thursday. Episode 36 went up on October 21, with 27 more already in the app. It's a different release from the finished Tapas run, so expect to wait if you were at the end on Tapas.
• Lout of Count's Family has the most homes of any series here: Tappytoon, Lezhin, Manta and LaLatoon all have English pages for it.

GlobalComix said on October 1 that it would carry Tomb Raider King, Overgeared and The Return of the Disaster-Class Hero. On October 24 none of the three had a series page there yet; the addresses returned "not found."

Tapas Alternatives in Print: Volumes Only

These five have no other English web home that we found, but Yen Press sells the comic in volumes, under its own label or its Ize Press imprint. Each volume page lists both a paperback and a digital edition.

The Beginning After the End was the odd one in this group: until October 29 it was the only series of our 32 still posting a new Tapas episode every week. On October 26 Tapas announced that "TBATE will be on hiatus after episode 259 publishes on Thursday, 10/29," and that "The extent and duration of the hiatus is still to be determined." Its author's site links the comic on Tapas, Yen Press and Kindle. If you're current on Tapas, read the episodes already up before March; after that, the volumes are the legal English option we found.

Tapas Only: No Other English Home Yet

For these 17, AniList lists Tapas as the only English edition, and none is on Manta's transfer list. Where Tapas uses a different English title, it's in brackets, because that's the name you'll be searching for.

Murim Login is the painful one. The Korean original returns with Season 4 on November 7, and English readers still haven't had Season 2. Our Murim Login Season 4 tracker follows the Korean side.

Moving Tapas Purchases to Manta

Manta's Move Your Bookshelf event is the one program that honors what you paid for on Tapas, and only for the series on its list. On October 24 that list had 59 entries; on October 29 it had 76. Ours on it now: Solo Leveling, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Tomb Raider King, its sequel Tomb Raider King: End Line, and Lout of Count's Family. Villains Are Destined to Die and I Shall Master This Family are on Manta, but not on the transfer list. Manta says new series keep arriving, so check the list again before you give up.

What the event terms say:

1. Deadline: requests must be in by February 28, 2027 at 11:59 PM ET, a month before Tapas closes.
2. What counts: only episodes you bought and permanently unlocked with Ink. Free episodes, wait-for-free episodes and rentals don't.
3. Minimum: you need at least 10 paid episodes of a series.
4. Who can apply: you must be 18 or over and have a Manta account. Comics only, no novels.
5. What you get: Manta gives you access to the same episodes on its own platform. Its terms say plainly that "Your Tapas purchases are not actually moved or relocated physically or digitally."

Manta also says it isn't affiliated with Tapas or Kakao Entertainment.

What Goes Wrong When You Switch

The title changes. Seven of the 17 Tapas-only series go by another name on Tapas, and other platforms may use a third. Search the Korean title if the English one fails.

WEBTOON's website isn't the whole series. Overgeared, Tomb Raider King, Who Made Me a Princess and Disaster-Class Hero all keep episodes in the WEBTOON app that the web list doesn't show. Overgeared's web list briefly ran to Episode 308 on October 23 and 24, then went back to stopping at Episode 49.

The other platform may be a different release. Who Made Me a Princess is finished on Tapas but still running weekly on WEBTOON. Don't assume you can jump straight to the ending.

Stalled isn't the same as on hiatus. Seven series here (Overgeared, Disaster-Class Hero, I Shall Master This Family, Perks, Dungeon Odyssey, Max Level Hero and Pick Me Up) still showed a weekly schedule badge on October 24, and none had posted since September 25 to 27. Max Level Hero and Perks have a note about a week off after every five or four episodes; that doesn't cover four silent weeks. Our Tapas shutdown explainer has the full Ink and access rules.

Our Take

This part is our opinion, built on the tables above. If your series is in the first group, move now and don't wait for March: Overgeared readers in particular can carry on right away, because WEBTOON already has more Overgeared episodes than Tapas, most of them in the app. If you spent Ink on Solo Leveling, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Tomb Raider King or Lout of Count's Family, the Manta claim is worth the effort; it costs nothing, though Manta requires you to verify the Tapas account.

The Tapas-only group is where readers lose out. Seventeen of our 32 series, including Second Life Ranker, Murim Login and Pick Me Up, have no English future listed anywhere we checked. For those, reread what you've bought before March 31 and keep an eye on Manta's list, Tappytoon and WEBTOON. On r/webtoons, one reader put the hope into words: "There’s Tappytoon and Manta; both have novels as well and lots of the old Pocket comics made their way to those platforms, so I’m hoping the Tapas ones do too." For these 17, hoping is all anyone can do right now.

How We Checked This

On October 24, 2026 we pulled each of the 32 series from Tapas's episode list, opened the newest episode page for its date, and read every notice on the series page. For other English editions we took the links AniList lists for each series, then opened every platform page to confirm it loads and carries the right series. We opened each Yen Press volume page for its date and formats, the Seven Seas list for Who Made Me a Princess, and Manta's event page and terms for the transfer list. We left out two sources we couldn't confirm: WebComics, whose license we couldn't verify, and Webnovel, which blocked our requests. "None found" means none on those lists, not proof that no English edition exists. On October 29, after a second reviewer flagged changes, we reread Manta's transfer list, The Beginning After the End's Tapas page and Manta's Tomb Raider King and I Shall Master This Family pages, and updated those lines. Every fact is logged in our sources table.
