Overgeared Tapas Updates Stopped: What GlobalComix Announced

Overgeared Tapas updates stopped at the end of September: Episode 305, posted September 26, is still the newest one there. Two other REDICE STUDIO series went quiet the same week, Tomb Raider King: End Line and The Return of the Disaster-Class Hero. A few days later GlobalComix said it's bringing Overgeared, the original Tomb Raider King and Disaster-Class Hero to its platform. Nobody has said why the Tapas releases stopped, and we're not going to guess.

Overgeared Tapas, End Line and Disaster-Class Hero: Where Each Stopped

All three ran weekly on Tapas right up to their last episode. Each has since missed three release days, and none of the series pages carries a break notice. The weekly schedule badge is still up.

Tapas as a whole didn't freeze. The Beginning After the End kept putting out new episodes there through mid-October. The original Tomb Raider King (도굴왕, Dogul Wang) has nothing left to post: it's complete on Tapas, all 412 episodes.

What GlobalComix Announced

GlobalComix's press release, dated October 1, says Riverse will distribute three REDICE STUDIO action-fantasy series to the platform: Tomb Raider King, Overgeared and The Return of the Disaster-Class Hero. They came in the same announcement as three KADOKAWA manga, timed ahead of New York Comic Con. CEO Henrik Rydberg said the new titles "reflect the variety and creative energy that make manga and manhwa impossible to put down."

What the release leaves out matters more if you're mid-series. It names the original Tomb Raider King, not End Line. It gives no launch date, and the promo art only says "Coming this fall." When we looked on October 21, GlobalComix had no series page up for any of the three. The platform sells through its Gold subscription and single-book purchases; prices for these titles haven't been announced.

After the Overgeared Tapas Stall: Where to Keep Reading

The weekly English releases kept going on WEBTOON. Its English Overgeared page posted a new episode every week in October and keeps more than two hundred newer episodes in the app. End Line is there too, also weekly through October, with more episodes in the app. Disaster-Class Hero has a WEBTOON English page marked "up every Tuesday," but the web list shows only the opening episodes, so check the app to see how far it's got. AniList also lists English Tappytoon editions for all three.

Whatever you already unlocked on Tapas stays readable until the service shuts down at the end of March 2027. It can't be moved to another Kakao service, and you can't buy Ink anymore. Readers are already sorting out where to follow what. In r/Overgeared, one reader wrote that "with the news of Tapas shutting down (which Overgeared primarily was on previously) I've been taking stock of the stories I'm interested in keeping up with."

Our Take

This is our read of the facts above, not something REDICE, Tapas or GlobalComix has said. The Overgeared Tapas stall, and End Line's, costs readers a bookmark and not much else: WEBTOON has kept the weekly English episodes coming, and that's where we'd follow both now. Disaster-Class Hero readers are in a murkier spot until they've checked the WEBTOON app. GlobalComix is worth watching if you want the finished Tomb Raider King somewhere other than Tapas, but there's no date yet and no End Line on its list. If you still hold Ink, spend it on episodes you'll want to reread before Tapas closes; it won't follow you anywhere.
