The best completed murim manhwa for a classic revenge arc. Tappytoon's synopsis: the leader of the Northern Heavenly Sect "is accused of colluding with the enemy" and "is forced to disband the sect and commit suicide to protect his son, Moowon." Moowon grows up under surveillance, escapes "to the mountains," and trains to master the fighting techniques of his predecessors. Fans also know it as Bukgeom Jeongi (북검전기).

AniList lists it as finished at 202 chapters, running from December 2019 to November 19, 2024, with an average score of 86 on October 29, 2026, the best of the six here. 2. GOSU

The funniest pick, and the one most likely to win over readers who find murim too solemn. WEBTOON's synopsis: Gang Yong "pledges to avenge his teacher at all costs," trains in seclusion, then reaches town and finds the traitors are "already dead?" What is he supposed to do now? That joke is the whole premise, and the series runs 233 chapters from there.

AniList lists it as finished at 233 chapters, from 2015 to April 27, 2021. The WEBTOON page marks it completed, with 98M views and 786,840 subscribers, but the website lists only the first 22 episodes and says "Read more episodes on the app!" When a reader asked r/manhwa in November 2025 for "Completed murim manhwas/webtoons without fanservice or harem," the replies named GOSU, The Legend of the Northern Blade and Chronicles of Heavenly Demon (thread). 3. Reincarnated as an Unruly Heir

Reincarnated as an Unruly Heir (cover via AniList).

The newest finished run here, and the best twist on a reincarnation setup. WEBTOON's synopsis: Jagak Yang, "known as the Ten Strike Finisher due to his ability to defeat any opponent within ten moves," is the son of the leader of the Great Martial Alliance until he "is assassinated by jealous rivals." He wakes up as Cheonso Ma, "the playboy second-in-command of the evil Shining Light Cult."

We read the prologue (Ep. 0) on WEBTOON on October 23, 2026. It opens on the Hundred Thousand Mountains in Guangxi Province, at "the seat of the Shining Light Cult," and introduces the "Heavenly Demon Style" as "the most powerful dark martial art technique." Then Jagak speaks as the hero: "I, Jagak Yang, the eldest son of the leader of the Great Martial Alliance..." will make the cultists "repent for their ways." The last page undercuts all of it. A crowd of cultists bows and congratulates him "on completing your isolation training," calls him "Vice-leader, sir!", and he can only answer "Huh?!" It is a clean, funny setup in a handful of pages.

AniList lists it as finished at 198 chapters, ending April 24, 2026; it also goes by I Reincarnated as the Crazed Heir. The WEBTOON page marks it completed with 34.1M views, but the website lists only the first episodes and says "Read more episodes on the app!", so you will finish it in the WEBTOON app.

4. A Martial Master Wakes Up as a Concubine

The pick if you want murim with a female lead and palace intrigue. WEBTOON's synopsis: Nyeonbi Cheon, "a notorious master of the deviant sects," is killed by her lover from a virtuous sect, who "poisons her to death with a dragonsbane fruit." She wakes up as "Noble Lady Soyeo Cheon, a concubine of the imperial palace," and has to use what she knows from her past life to navigate "both intrigue and romance." AniList tags it Female Protagonist, Royal Affairs and Villainess.

It is the shortest pick here: AniList lists it as finished at 140 chapters, ending January 17, 2026, with story and art by LICO. The WEBTOON page marks it completed with 32M views and 508,887 subscribers; like Unruly Heir, the website shows the first episodes and sends you to the app for the rest.

5. Heavenly Demon Reborn! (Chronicles of Heavenly Demon)

The darkest revenge story on this list. Tapas's synopsis, as carried on AniList: Un-Seong watches "his master is brutally beaten to death after a false accusation of practicing forbidden demonic arts," fails to avenge him, and "awakens as a child, training to be an elite soldier of a demonic sect." Fans know it as Chronicles of Heavenly Demon (신마경천기).

AniList lists it as finished at 252 chapters, including six extras, ending January 8, 2025. The Tapas page lists 253 episodes, and AniList links no other English edition. 6. The Undefeatable Swordsman

The underdog pick. Tapas's synopsis on AniList: U-Mun Song, "the son of a lowly innkeeper," dreams of martial arts but has a "frail body," until "a mysterious guest leaves behind a painting as payment" and he starts showing skills he never learned.

It is the longest pick: AniList lists 309 chapters, a count that "Includes 61 extra chapters," finished on June 14, 2026. The Tapas page lists 263 episodes, and Tapas is its only English link on AniList. That is a lot of reading to fit in before March 31, 2027, so it ranks last here despite the premise.

Two more finished murim series have English editions only on Tapas, per AniList. Reborn as a Scholar (214 chapters, ended May 19, 2024) puts a reincarnated warrior in the body of a lord's eldest son whose father wants him to become a scholar. The Nine Heavens Swordmaster (153 chapters, ended January 22, 2026) follows an abused son who learns his father's Nine Heavens Sword Art from a spirit in a mirror. Our take: which completed murim manhwa to read first

Read The Legend of the Northern Blade first. It is the cleanest version of what people want from murim, a ruined sect, a lone heir and a long road back, and its English home is not going away. Go to GOSU next if you want the same world with jokes, or to Reincarnated as an Unruly Heir if you like a premise that plays the genre's good-versus-evil sects against each other; its prologue ends on a good joke.

The Tapas-only picks are where you need a plan. Heavenly Demon Reborn! is worth it, but 253 episodes in five months is a real commitment. If you can't fit that in, pick one of the three WEBTOON series instead and don't buy Ink you can't spend.
