Cultivation Manhua With System: 5 to Read in English

Start with Lucky Me: it has the best AniList score of the five, and its gacha system is used for luck, not just power.

VerdictLucky Me if you want the best-rated pick, Super Cube if you want a finished 323-episode run, Villain Cultivator's Secret Return if you like a schemer.

Cultivation manhua with system powers are easy to find and harder to read legally in English. This list only includes series with an official English page you can open today on Tapas, Tappytoon or Webnovel, and that AniList tags as cultivation stories with a system in the premise. If you want one pick, read Lucky Me: I Secretly Cultivated for 1,000 Years: it has the best AniList score here, 79 out of 100.

Three manhua covers side by side: a dark-haired man in a suit raising his fist under Chinese title text, a smiling red-eyed villain beside a white-haired woman, and a swordsman in a white jacket in front of three women

The orienting point before the list: "system" means something different in each of these five. In Lucky Me it's a gacha roll, in Log In with Max Level a check-in reward, in Frenzy Leveling Up System a leveling boost, in Super Cube a cube that opens onto a universe of powers, and in Villain Cultivator's Secret Return a gamelike helper behind a villain's plan. Pick by the kind of system you enjoy, not by the cultivation setting.

For Korean martial-arts series, our best cultivation manhwa list is the better fit, and best system fantasy manhwa covers Korean system stories; this page is Chinese manhua only.

Heads-up on Tapas: it shuts down on March 31, 2027, and episodes you unlocked there go with it. Super Cube is also on Webnovel and INKR in English. Log In with Max Level has no other English home we could open: the WebComics and MangaToon pages AniList lists are gone. (What the shutdown means)

1. Lucky Me: I Secretly Cultivated for 1,000 Years

The best pick, and the strangest use of a system on this list. AniList's synopsis has Han Jue reborn "into a world of immortal cultivation" and "blessed with the Gacha System, able to re-roll for stats in cultivation and luck." Then he does the opposite of a normal system lead: "To stay out of trouble, Han Jue cultivated on his own, and kept quiet about his special abilities."

The story covers a thousand years, which AniList marks with a time-skip tag, so it reads less like a tournament climb and more like a long, quiet build toward one moment when he has to act. It isn't for everyone. One reviewer on the Webnovel page wrote: "I get the impression that the author thinks an MC who's cowardly and wimpy is hilarious and good comedy, but it isn't." A fan gives the same warning from the other side. In a 2024 r/Manhua thread asking whether it's worth reading, where it goes by its other English title, Top Tier Providence, one reply starts "This is my favorite manhua atm" and then adds: "if you are someone who always expects action scenes to get engaged, then this is not for you." If a careful, hiding lead sounds fun rather than annoying, start here. Webnovel lists it as ongoing at 282 chapters, and AniList scores it 79, the highest of the five.

2. Villain Cultivator's Secret Return

The schemer's pick. Per AniList's synopsis (from Tappytoon), Chu Xiu "transmigrated to the Empyrean Continent and rose as a fearsome villain," got "hunted down and destroyed," and comes back with his memories. This time he'll pose "as a righteous hero admired by all" while "secretly manipulating fate itself," with "a gamelike system at his side."

The system is a tool for the plan rather than the plot itself, so the focus stays on Chu Xiu and what he is hiding. AniList also tags it with a female harem, so expect that. It's still releasing; Tappytoon rates it for Everyone and gives four chapters free before the paywall. AniList scores it 69.

3. Super Cube

Super Cube manhua cover showing a dark-haired young man in a black leather jacket holding a long blade Super Cube (cover via AniList).

The long, finished pick, and one of two set in the modern world. AniList's synopsis, credited to Tapas, starts with "an average joe with a crush on the school goddess," Wang Xiaoxiu, who falls into a river and comes out "with a mysterious cube: a gateway to the Ultimate Universe System."

We read the free prologue on Tapas. It opens on a red page that reads "Every boy wants to be a hero for his girl," then cuts to Xiaoxiu: "I became a drowned rat, right in front of my dream girl." Thugs on a bridge argue over who threw him in ("It wasn't me, boss! The idiot ran into me with his head."), he sinks through green water, and the last panels promise his destiny was "completely changed." It's a quick, cheap-laugh setup, and it tells you the tone: this is a school comedy that grows into a power story.

If what you want is a cultivation-adjacent power climb you can binge to the end, this is it. Tapas lists it as a completed series with 323 episodes. The first episode is free, and the rest open on a one-day wait-until-free timer, except the latest 96 episodes. AniList scores it 66 and tags it with cultivation and super powers.

If you'd like to see the setup move before you start reading, Super Cube also has an animated adaptation: a 12-episode donghua that iQIYI released in 2025 and that AniList links to this manhua.

4. Frenzy Leveling Up System

Frenzy Leveling Up System manhua cover showing a swordsman in a white jacket in front of three women in a blue-lit hall Frenzy Leveling Up System (cover via AniList).

A classic weak-to-strong system story. AniList's synopsis has Yi Tianyun, "the young lord of Merak Palace," treated as "a weakling and an outcast by all those around him." A dragon blood elixir throws him "into the 'Frenzy Leveling Up System,'" and from there he is "armed with a trove of incredible skills and items."

By AniList's chapter counts it's the shortest finished pick, at 106, so it's a good weekend read if you want the classic weak-to-strong arc without a long commitment. Tappytoon lists it as completed with three free chapters. AniList scores it 63.

5. Log In with Max Level

Log In with Max Level manhua cover showing a dark-haired man in a suit holding a glowing object under large Chinese title text Log In with Max Level (cover via AniList).

The check-in pick, and the one with the most confusing name: Tapas publishes it in English as The Savior's 30-Day Unstoppable Streak. AniList's synopsis, credited to Tapas, has Mo Chu chosen as a savior in the "Secret Realm," where he is "the only non-cultivator among powerful cultivators," until "fate grants the Check-In System."

It mixes a modern plot about a sick sister and a boss who framed him with the cultivation side, so the stakes are split between two worlds. Tapas lists it as completed at 85 episodes, with the first one free and a one-day wait-until-free timer outside the latest 25. AniList scores it 61, the lowest here, so treat it as the pick for readers who specifically want a check-in system.

Our take: which cultivation manhua with system to start

Start with Lucky Me. It has the best score, and it uses its system to stay hidden rather than to climb, which gives it a different rhythm from the rest. If you'd rather have a story with an ending, read Super Cube: it's finished, it's long, and most of it opens free on a timer. Villain Cultivator's Secret Return is the one to try if a lead who plans ahead matters more to you than the leveling.

A practical note: two of these are on Tappytoon, where only the first few chapters are free. Check those before you commit, because the paid part starts early.

How we checked this

Picks come from AniList's cultivation-tagged Chinese titles whose synopses name a system, filtered to those with an official English platform linked on AniList. Status, chapter counts, tags, synopses and scores are from AniList's API on October 22, 2026. English titles, episode counts, completion status and free-reading terms were read from each series page on Tapas, Tappytoon and Webnovel the same day. We also read Super Cube's free prologue (episode 1) on Tapas on October 22, 2026. The r/Manhua quote, the Super Cube donghua details (AniList and iQIYI's series page) and the trailer from iQIYI's YouTube channel were checked on October 24, 2026. On October 29, 2026 we re-read the five AniList scores and the Webnovel chapter count before publishing; three scores had moved by one or two points and Lucky Me had gained a chapter, and the numbers above are the October 29 ones.
