A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation Season 2 is out, just not in English. Naver Webtoon brought the Korean original, 회귀수선전, back on September 24, 2026, more than nine months after Season 1 ended, and it has updated every week since. WEBTOON's English edition hasn't moved since its Season 1 finale on February 16, 2026. Its mobile series page marks it "On hiatus", and both the mobile and desktop pages carry a one-line notice: "A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation will return!" No date comes with it.

Korea: back on September 24, weekly since
Season 2 opened on September 24, 2026 with Episode 26, "5회차의 첫날 (시즌2)", Day One of the Fifth Cycle, and Naver Series readers got Episodes 26 to 31 that same night. It has run one episode a week since, posted late on Thursday nights for Naver's Friday slot. The newest paid one, Episode 37, is titled "6회차의 첫날", Day One of the Sixth Cycle, so Season 2 is already one regression past its opening.
WEBTOON: still on hiatus at Episode 25
WEBTOON launched the English edition on October 6, 2025 with Episodes 1 to 3, ran weekly on Mondays, and squeezed in a burst of four days in a row with Episodes 11 to 14 from December 1 to 4. Then it stopped at Episode 25, "Elixir Making (4) (Season 1 Finale)". There's nothing hiding in the app either: unlike series with app-only chapters, the page carries no "only on the app" line.

What A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation Season 2 opens with
Episode 26 is a restart that doesn't wait for anyone: in one chapter it resets the world, robs a corrupt official and ends up in a fight with a cultivator. We read it in Korean on Naver Webtoon; light spoilers for that episode only.
It opens on a black snake biting its own tail around the words "5회차", fifth cycle, and Eunhyeon waking in a forest. His first thoughts are about the life he just left: so he's regressed again, and did he manage to cut down the crown prince? Then a coworker screams that it's all his fault and lunges at him. Eunhyeon knocks the man out, and a few panels later tells the rest of the office group that the man "suddenly screamed and fainted." That deadpan is the series at its best, and Season 2 gets there within a dozen panels.
He states this life's goal in one speech bubble: reach the Five Qi realm (오기조원, 五氣朝元), the stage where he thinks he'd be in tune with the world itself. He's "one step" from becoming a cultivator. After that the episode moves fast. One caption covers the first days, which go the way they always have: a fox tears at his arm, a snake asks for blood, the coworkers get taken one by one. A rift drops him and Kim Young-hoon, another coworker who fell into this world with him, into the house of a corrupt official he remembers as "memorable trash." He puts the household to sleep, walks out with twelve gold toads, and a wanted poster with his face goes up in the city. He changes his face, buys a manor and spends a month teaching Kim Young-hoon martial arts.

The last stretch sets the season's direction. Eunhyeon gives Kim Young-hoon a single manual that combines six volumes Kim Young-hoon himself wrote in their previous life, proposes they meet once every five years, and goes looking for the Jin clan, a family of cultivators trying to drive a clan he calls lawless out of the kingdom. He finds one of them at a hidden valley near the border and offers the gold toads for an introduction. The cultivator laughs, calls him a bug, says he'll keep the gold anyway and throws a fire talisman at him.

Eunhyeon slices through the attack with his sword and grabs the man by the collar. One panel washes his face in red, eyes glowing. Then he asks, roughly, "You must take me for some mere mortal you can laugh at?" The episode ends on the cultivator's frightened hiccup.
The pace is the point. Fans argued about it during the break. One r/manhwa reader liked "the way the whole season end in just 25 chapters," another found "the pacing of the manhwa is too slow," and a third pushed back that "the novel is a slow burn on purpose." Episode 26 sides with speed.
Why English is still waiting: our read

None of this section comes from WEBTOON; it's our arithmetic on dates WEBTOON and Naver published. The English edition was never simultaneous with Korea. It started 109 days after the Korean Episode 1 and finished Season 1 74 days after the Korean free finale, helped by the four-day December burst. If WEBTOON kept that 74-day gap for Season 2, the English return would land in early December 2026. WEBTOON hasn't promised anything beyond "will return!", so treat that date as a guess from past behaviour. Every week it waits adds to the catch-up: at one Korean episode a week the gap reaches 13 on November 12, and an English restart would likely need a burst like December's to close it.
Readers spent the break swapping release guesses. In the r/manhwa thread "any news or chance of getting a 2nd season?", opened in January 2026, one commenter passed on in February that the manhwa would be "coming back between April - June." In May another wrote, in Spanish, that the artist had answered on Instagram that he hoped it would come out "en septiembre en corea y a nivel global un poco despues", in September in Korea and globally a little later. The Korean half of that came true on September 24. We couldn't open the Instagram post itself, so treat the "a little later" part as a reader's report.
What to read while you wait
If you read Korean, start with Episode 26 on Naver Webtoon; Season 2 is free up to Episode 32.
If you don't, read The Knight Only Lives Today first. AniList lists it among this series' recommendations and lists this series among its own, and its lead also keeps dying and coming back. Then try SSS-Class Revival Hunter, another AniList recommendation built on dying and returning. Our The Knight Only Lives Today reading guide and SSS-Class Revival Hunter reading guide say where to start each one.
The original A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation novel is the long game: Naver Series and Munpia, both Korean platforms, list it as complete at 876 episodes, against 37 webtoon episodes so far.
Our call: hold off on a Season 1 reread until English Season 2 has a date. We'll update this page when WEBTOON posts one.
How we checked this: on November 7, 2026 we read the full English episode list on WEBTOON (desktop and mobile), the Korean episode list and title data on Naver Webtoon, the Naver Series pages for the webtoon and the novel, Munpia, AniList, MangaUpdates and one r/manhwa thread, and read Episode 26 in Korean. Last reviewed: November 7, 2026.
