Is Containment Zone Management season 2 confirmed?
Yes, as far as the platforms go. On Naver Webtoon the last two posts are the epilogue and a post titled "후기&시즌 공지" (afterword and season notice), both dated January 4, 2026, and Naver marks the series as on break rather than finished. The English WEBTOON page carries a note that reads "Containment Zone Management will return!" That's the official signal. There's no announced start date for part two, and we haven't found a statement on what season 2 will cover, so treat any plot claims you see on social media as rumor.
Readers picked up the same news early. In a January r/webtoons thread asking whether the series should get a second season, one commenter wrote: "good new, the author is working on season 2! (got this from their instagram)".

Why the English page looks stuck at Episode 32
The free web listing stops at Ep. 32, "The Memory Chip (4)," posted March 19, 2026. Above the episode list, WEBTOON shows "Read 12 new episodes only on the app!" Those are the later episodes, available early in the app. Add them to the 32 and you get 44, exactly the Korean count of 43 episodes and an epilogue. We couldn't open the app-only titles to confirm the last one is the epilogue, but the numbers line up.
The web page itself hasn't moved since March, which is why a search result showing Ep. 32 makes the series look abandoned. It isn't: the app is 12 episodes ahead, and the "will return!" note sits right above the list. If you'd rather read for free, WEBTOON's help page says "many Fast Pass episodes become free after a specific period of time," but there's no date for these 12.
What the story is, for anyone just arriving
Department 2 is a four-person team sent daily into containment zones, spaces warped by anomalies and governed by deadly rules, from "unholy hospitals to sinister arcades," as WEBTOON's blurb puts it. The job is to study each zone and bring back supplies, whatever it costs. The fan who recommended it on r/webtoons summed up the hook: "each time they die, their memories are transferred to a new body."
It's horror, not romance. Naver files it under thriller, and readers keep comparing it to the SCP Foundation and the Backrooms. Season 1 is short enough to finish in a weekend, which is part of why the break stings.
