Is Villain to Kill Finished? Season 3 Reading Guide

No, it isn't over. Season 3 has been running every week since early 2025, and the two long gaps in its history were season breaks, not a hiatus.

VerdictRead it for the fights and the hero-in-a-villain's-body hook, and don't expect the plot to get deeper after the first hundred episodes.

Villain to Kill isn't finished. It's in season 3, and both the Korean original and the official English edition still put out an episode a week. If you came here because the series once seemed to stop, it did, twice, and both times it was a season break that ended with a new season.

Three Villain to Kill covers side by side: a black-haired young man crackling with blue energy in front of a smiling woman in white with red flowers in her hair, then two close-ups of him grinning with one glowing yellow eye

The setup fits in a sentence. Cassian Lee is a top-tier psyker, one of the good guys, who wakes up in the body of a Korean high school boy "who has just become a villain", as WEBTOON's blurb puts it. The Korean title is 빌런투킬, the same words written in Hangul. Pyupin writes it and Eun-Ji draws it, and it has run on Naver Webtoon since February 2021.

Naver rates it 15+. Both editions number the episodes the same way, so the gap is easy to read: Korea's free list is three episodes ahead of the English one, and the five paid episodes in the WEBTOON app put you two past Korea's free readers.

The three seasons, and the breaks between them

Each season ends with an extra post after the finale: an afterword in Korean and an epilogue in English. Those are the creators wrapping up, not story chapters.

The first break was the long one. Korean readers waited nearly six months for season 2; English readers, who were behind, waited four. The second break, after the 162-episode mark, lasted three and a half months in Korea and almost four in English. Outside those two stretches, the Korean list has gone up every week since 2021 with the occasional skipped week, never more than one in a row.

Season 3 alone is already 90 free episodes long in Korea, so this isn't a short epilogue season. Nothing on either platform says how many seasons are planned.

Where to start, and one labeling quirk

Start at "Episode 0 - Prologue" on the official WEBTOON page and read straight through. The numbering never resets between seasons, so there's nothing to skip and no recap season to find.

The quirk: WEBTOON's episode labels say "(S3)" from the season 3 premiere through at least March 2026, and by June they had switched back to "(S2)". The latest one, as we checked, is still labeled "(S2) Episode 249". It's a labeling slip, not a new season or a re-release. The Korean list and the English premiere marker both put everything from episode 163 in season 3.

If what grabs you here is a powered lead who's officially on the wrong side, our list puts Villain to Kill next to darker picks like Bastard and Kill the Hero.

Is there a Villain to Kill novel or anime?

No to both. It's an original webtoon. Naver's credits list Pyupin as the writer and Eun-Ji as the artist, with no novel author, and AniList gives the source as "Original". AniList also shows no anime or other adaptation connected to it, and we found no announcement of one.

That matters for anyone who wants to read ahead: there's no novel to jump to, so the furthest you can legally get is the paid preview episodes on WEBTOON or Naver.

Is it a harem, and is it worth reading?

Harem: not by its tags. Naver tags it as revenge, ability battles, possession and a villain lead, among others, and AniList's tags start with Super Power and Anti-Hero. Neither lists romance. Some readers see a drift anyway. In a 2025 r/manhwa thread asking whether it's worth reading, one reader said they liked it until recent chapters started "nerfing and sexualizing every previously powerful female character", and added that "it starts going downhill once it gets past ep 100."

Worth it: that same thread mostly lands on yes, as long as you want a fun action read. One reader called it "a solid B tier story", liking the art style while finding the plot "generic and predictable at times". Another said it's "governed by rule of cool", and a third complained that the lead "wasn't ever gonna lose a fight". The fans who stuck with it are less hedged: one reply says they had "already reread up to season 3 twice".

Our Take

Start it if you want a long, steady action webtoon you won't run out of soon. Villain to Kill has kept a weekly rhythm for most of five years, and when it stopped, it came back. The hook, a hero's conscience stuck in a villain's powers, carries the first season well, and readers mostly agree the fights hold up after that.

Go in with the right expectations, though. The praise in that reader thread is about art and action; the complaints are about a predictable plot and a lead who never seems to lose. If you need a story that keeps raising its stakes, you may stall where some readers did, around the hundred-episode mark. If you want more superpowered casts after this, our best superhero manhwa list is the next stop. Read it on WEBTOON rather than a scan site; our guide to where to read manhwa legally explains why that's worth the extra click.

How we checked this: on October 22, 2026 we went through the full Korean episode list on Naver Webtoon, the English episode list on WEBTOON, the Naver Series page and AniList, and read the r/manhwa thread quoted above. Season dates come from the official lists; we haven't read the series end to end for this guide. Last reviewed: October 22, 2026.
