Swordmaster's Youngest Son Season 3 is already running, just not in English. The Korean webtoon (검술명가 막내아들, Geomsulmyeongga Mangnaeadeul) came back from its season break on July 18, 2026 and has kept going every week since. The English edition, The Swordmaster's Son on Tapas, stopped at the Season 2 finale and hasn't named a return date. If you read in English, you'll pick up at episode 202 whenever it arrives. Here's where both editions stand, what to remember from the first two seasons, and the one problem nobody has solved yet: Tapas itself is closing.

The English break is the same break the Korean run took, just later. Kakao posted episode 201 in early March, paused for a little over four months, then returned with a double drop and a "복귀 이벤트" (comeback event) on KakaoPage. Tapas reached the same finale in June. Its notice, signed "Team Tapas," says: "Season 2 has come to a close and so we will be taking a hiatus before returning with season 3!" The notice gives no date, and nothing newer has gone up since.

So the Korean edition is fifteen episodes into the new stretch while the English one sits at the finale. That gap is normal for a Kakao title on a season break. What isn't normal is the next part.
The Tapas problem
Tapas has announced it will end service on March 31, 2027, and its notice says that after that date "you will no longer be able to access Tapas, including any previously unlocked content." Anime News Network's report adds that "The platform has not announced a general migration of Tapas titles to another Kakao service." AniList lists Tapas as the only English home for this series. Put together: there's a Season 3 credit line on Tapas, no date, and a platform with an end date. Nobody has said where The Swordmaster's Son goes after that, so read what the Tapas shutdown means for your library before you spend anything there.
Where to resume reading
English readers: start at episode 202. Tapas didn't restart the count for Season 2 (episode 101 followed 100), and Kakao's Korean list runs straight from 201 to 202, so there's no new "episode 1" to look for. If your memory of the Season 2 finale is hazy, reread the last few episodes before 202; the refresher below won't replace those beats.
If you don't want to wait: the official Korean edition is on Kakao Webtoon and KakaoPage, with new episodes free on a wait timer. The source novel by Hwangje Penguin (황제펭귄) is marked finished on KakaoPage, so the webtoon has a complete story to adapt; it won't stall for lack of material.
Season boundaries on Tapas, if you're tracking where you stopped: Season 1 is episodes 1 to 100 (its finale posted March 16, 2024), and Season 2 runs from episode 101 (August 14, 2024) to the June 2026 finale.
Before Swordmaster's Youngest Son Season 3: who to remember
The setup, in Tapas' own words: Jin Runcandel "was destined to become the head of his swordmaster clan," was banished for his "shoddy swordsmanship," and made a contract with the god Solderet that freed him from the curse holding him back, but "he meets a rather unfortunate end." Then "he awakens as a baby, long before his tragedy began." Everything since is Jin using that second chance inside a family that ranks its own children.

The names worth having in your head before the return, all from AniList's cast entries:
- Chiron Runcandel, Jin's father and the current head, described as "the undisputed strongest human."
- Luna Runcandel, the 1st flagbearer and the strongest of the siblings, who has no interest in becoming patriarch and has stepped away from the Succession War.
- Gilly McLauran, Jin's nanny and once a 7-star knight-level fighter, who looked after him in both of his lives.
- Murakan, the Black Dragon, also called the Shadow Dragon.
- The Zipple family, the mage house that, per AniList, wiped out the Heaster family. Its youngest son, Veradin Zipple, is listed with Dante Hairan as Jin's only friends, which is exactly why the Zipples are messy rather than simple villains.

What readers ahead of you are saying
The readers following the Korean run sound split. In an r/manhwa thread from August, posted while the new stretch was a few weeks old, the original poster wrote: "I’m absolutely loving the story so far." A reply told them to mark spoilers because "it's the latest chapter." About a week later another poster titled their thread "I used to like this manhwa at the beginning.... After that it became slop." Both are one reader's view, but they're the two moods you'll find when Season 3 reaches English.
Our Take
Don't treat the credit line as a release, and don't treat the Korean return of Swordmaster's Youngest Son Season 3 as an English one. We'd wait for Tapas, or Kakao, to say where the English edition continues before unlocking anything new on a site that's closing in March. If the wait is too long and you read Korean, the official Kakao edition is the place to go; everyone else should bookmark the Tapas page, keep this refresher handy, and start at 202 when it lands. On October 15, 2026 we read the Tapas series page and its full 201-episode list (the two season-finale labels and their dates), Kakao Webtoon's own episode list for the Korean edition (episode dates from 201 to 216), the KakaoPage pages for the webtoon, the novel and the comeback event, the AniList entry and cast pages, Tapas' end-of-service notices and Anime News Network's report on them. This pass corrected the old version: the September 5 hiatus notice had been dated June 20 (the finale's date), and "Season 3 hasn't started" is true only in English. We dropped a rumored July return window from Reddit, the AniList score and popularity figures, season summaries we couldn't source (a ban on Solderet's magic, specific defeats), and the old TL;DR, Key Takeaways, Step-by-Step, Tips and FAQ blocks.
