Tapas never restarted the numbering, so Season 2 begins at episode 101 and Season 3 will begin at 202. If you're coming back after a break, that's the number to look for.

What you're starting
Tapas' description covers the setup: Jin Runcandel "was destined to become the head of his swordmaster clan" but is "banished for his shoddy swordsmanship." A contract with the god Solderet frees him from the curse holding him back, he still "meets a rather unfortunate end," and he "awakens as a baby, long before his tragedy began."
So the whole run takes place inside the family that rejected him. A few names help in the early episodes, all from AniList's character entries:
- Chiron Runcandel: Jin's father, the clan head, "the undisputed strongest human."
- Luna Runcandel: the strongest of the siblings, who has stepped away from the fight over who inherits.
- Gilly McLauran: Jin's nanny, who "cared for Jin more than anyone else, both in her past life and in her current one."
- Murakan: the Black Dragon, also called the Shadow Dragon.
- The Zipples: a family of mages; Veradin Zipple, Kelliak Zipple's youngest son, is one of Jin's only friends, along with Dante Hairan.

When the English edition runs out
Tapas posted the Season 2 finale, Episode 201, on June 20, 2026. Its notice, signed by Team Tapas and dated September 5, says: "Season 2 has come to a close and so we will be taking a hiatus before returning with season 3!" There's no return date. Tapas does already credit a separate Season 3 team, so a continuation is planned somewhere.
The Korean edition is ahead because it hit the same break earlier. Kakao posted its Season 2 finale in March, paused for a little over four months, and came back on July 18 with two episodes at once. "Finally the wait is over," one r/manhwa post said that day. By October 10 the Korean run was fifteen episodes past the English one, posting weekly.

- Wait for the English Season 3. The catch is Tapas itself: it closes on March 31, 2027, and no move to another platform has been announced. Our Season 3 catch-up guide tracks what happens.
- Follow the Korean webtoon on Kakao Webtoon or KakaoPage, starting at 202.
- Switch to the novel. It's finished in Korean and much longer than the webtoon. One reader on r/manhwa did exactly that: "I got impatient after chapter 201 so I started reading the web novel, but bro, there are 1147 chapters and I'm currently at 329." We'd only do this if you read Korean; the finished edition we checked is the Korean one on KakaoPage.
We'd take option one for now and keep an eye on the closing date. The webtoon is what this guide is for, and Tapas' numbering puts the first Season 3 episode at 202 whenever it comes.

English: Tapas, as The Swordmaster's Son. The page says it updates every Saturday when it's running, and every episode except the newest 60 unlocks free on a one-day wait. Tapas stopped selling or giving out Ink on October 1, 2026, so only Ink you already hold still works for the newer episodes.
