SSS-Class Revival Hunter Characters: Names, Titles, Guilds

The main SSS-Class Revival Hunter characters are Kim Gong-ja, the hunter who copies the skill of whoever kills him, and Geom-je, the Sword Emperor, the only other character AniList lists as a lead. The strongest hunter when the story opens is Yoo So-ha, the Flame Emperor: the #1 ranker Gong-ja envies, and the one who kills him first. Five guild leaders, a demon-faction head and a few tower bosses make up the rest of the named cast, each with a title that fans use more often than the name. Every name and title below comes from AniList's character list for the manhwa.

Recent updates:

• October 19, 2026: Where to read now notes that Season 5 started in Korean on September 26, 2026; the English edition on Tapas is still paused.
• October 16, 2026: Full fact check. Fixed the guild count (five guild leaders, plus Baek-hyang Seo, who leads the Demonic Faction), added the anime's voice cast and Crunchyroll teaser, and removed claims we couldn't source: the chapter where season 4 ended, a novel chapter count, and chapter ranges for the Inquisitor arc. The hero image alt now describes the actual cover.
• October 15, 2026: Tapas closing note added.

SSS-Class Revival Hunter characters at a glance

Kim Gong-ja

Kim Gong-ja's character portrait. © Bill K, Neida, Sin No-a. Via AniList.

AniList: "Gong-Ja Kim is an aspiring hunter who is jealous of the #1 ranker: the Flame Emperor." He grew up an orphan, and was "a below-average hunter who adored and worshipped higher rankers," until "this admiration later turned into envy." Then he received an S-rank skill card that "allowed him to receive the power of those who killed him." Tapas tells the rest: he's "killed by the #1 hunter, the Flame Emperor!" and copies "the ability to travel back in time upon death." Anime Corner's summary of the anime puts the reset at 24 hours.

His two AniList nicknames, Zombie and The King of Death, both come from that loop. Our SSS-Class Revival Hunter review covers how the mechanic plays out.

The two Emperors

Geom-je (Sword Emperor, left) and Yoo So-ha (Flame Emperor, right). Portraits via AniList.

Geom-je, the Sword Emperor. His name is the title: AniList gives the hanja 劍帝 and "Sword Emperor" as his other names. Anime Corner describes him as "a former top-class Hunter who becomes Gongja's ghostly companion through his copy skill." Readers argue about how much the story uses him. One novel reader posted "I feel that the sword emperor is really really neglected," and the top reply pushed back: used poorly, "he could trivialize the entire story, since he's been through all the floors."

Yoo So-ha, the Flame Emperor. AniList lists the character as So-Ha Yu, also romanized Soo-Ha Yoo, with "Flame Emperor" as the title. Gong-ja's own entry links "the #1 ranker: the Flame Emperor" straight to that entry. Per Tapas, the Flame Emperor is who kills Gong-ja at the start, which sets off the copy skill. Raviel Ivansia is a different character (see below).

Guild leaders and faction heads

AniList names five guild leaders, each with a title:

• Anastasia Zelenska, Black Witch (흑색마녀): "the Guild Leader of Black Dragon."
• Patricia, Paladin (성기사): "the Guild Leader of City Security."
• Nisha, Countess (백작): "the Guild Leader of the United Merchants."
• Liaofan, Viper (독사): "the Guild Leader of the Heavenly Order."
• Bambollina, Heresy Inquisitor (이단심문관): "the Guild Leader of Pantheon."

Baek-hyang Seo is the sixth power player but not a guild leader. AniList: "The leader of the Demonic Faction from the story chosen for Floor 22," with the title Heavenly Demon (Cheon Ma).

Tower bosses and the constellation

• Hamustra, the Corner Librarian: "the constellation who manages from tower's 21st floor until 30th floor."
• Preta, The Demon King of Fall Rain, also listed as Ester and Saintess of the Outskirts: "the enemy boss of Tower's 20th floor."
• Hellfire Maiden: "the boss monster on the 10th floor."

Other SSS-Class Revival Hunter characters AniList names

• Raviel Ivansia (Lady Silverlily) isn't a hunter. AniList: "She is the villainess of the story named 'The Tale of Sormwyn Academy'": a novel inside the series' world.
• Marcus Calenbury is a Sword Saint (검성), a different title from Geom-je's.
• Yakjesa (약제사) is listed with the title Master Alchemist.
• Ai-gim Repanta, also listed as Lefanta Aegim, carries the titles Constellation Killer and Salcheonseong (살천성). A separate entry, Bohoui Yeosin (The Goddess of Protection), is listed as "Lefanta Aegim's Holy Sword of Protection."
• Sarbast Aegim is listed only as an NPC. AniList doesn't say whether the shared name means they're related.

The anime cast

The anime premieres in January 2027, and Crunchyroll will stream it internationally. Anime Corner: "Takeo Otsuka stars as Kim Gongja, with Satoshi Hino voicing the Sword Emperor." Crunchyroll's teaser:

Where to read

The manhwa is by Neida (story) and Bill K (art), from Sin No-a's novel. In English it's on Tapas, which has 154 episodes; on February 27, 2026, Tapas announced that "Season 4 has come to a close" and that the series will return with season 5. Korea got there first: the publisher's KakaoPage notices put the Season 5 launch on September 26, 2026, and Tapas hasn't dated the English release. Tapas closes on March 31, 2027, and no other English web home is listed; Yen Press prints the volumes. (What the shutdown means)

Our take

Get the two Emperors straight and the rest of the SSS-Class Revival Hunter characters fall into place. Yoo So-ha is the top-ranked hunter who kills Gong-ja at the start, and Geom-je is the former top hunter who stays with him as a ghost. Most guild leaders get a one-line AniList entry, so use the table as a cheat sheet when a new name shows up.

How we checked this: names, titles and roles come from AniList's character list, re-read on October 16, 2026; the release status from Tapas and the publisher's KakaoPage notices, checked on October 19, 2026.
