We go name by name, with the webtoon and drama spellings side by side, since most names have more than one romanization.

Quick background: Study Group (스터디그룹) is written by Shin Hyung-wook and drawn by Ryu Seung-yeon, and has been running since January 2019. It's in its third season on WEBTOON, updating every Sunday. Study Group character guide: Yoon Ga-min, the brawler who wants to study

Ga-min (Gamin Yoon on WEBTOON, Ga-Min Yun on AniList) is a student at Yusung Technical High, a school nicknamed the "school for future criminals." He has exactly one goal: get into a four-year university. He's "rejected from countless study groups," so he builds his own. The joke that drives the series is that the only thing he's naturally good at is fighting.
AniList lists him at 178 cm, gives his hobby as martial arts, and has his classmates' nickname for him: "Crazy Glasses." It also carries his motto, "To hell with circumstances, I create opportunities"; one r/KDRAMA viewer was sobbing over the drama's handmade sign version of it. In the TVING series he's played by Hwang Min-hyun.
The man behind the fighting is his uncle, Jeon Young-ha, who trained Ga-min in "various fighting skills" (Kwon Sang-woo plays him in drama Season 2). AniList lists Young-ha in the cast with no description, so the uncle link comes from the drama's cast notes.
Lee Han-kyung, the tutor who came back

Han-kyung is the only other character AniList marks as a lead. On WEBTOON she's "Gamin's former tutor," who joins his high school "in hopes of earning her teacher certification," so she's a trainee chasing a long shot of her own, right next to his. The drama simplifies that to "a temporary teacher" at Yusung and calls her "the sturdy backing of the study group." Han Ji-eun plays her.
Spelling trap: she's Hankyeong on WEBTOON, Han-gyeon Lee on AniList and Lee Han-kyung in the drama. Same person.
She's also the character readers argue about. One r/webtoons reader said they "stopped reading it years ago because of the teacher," asking whether she gets "less meddlesome." We'd give her the first season before deciding: the study group is her long shot as much as his.

The group starts small. The drama's cast list is the clearest map of who's in it:

Kim Se-hyun is Ga-min's classmate and co-founder of the group. He isn't on AniList's character list at all, which is why the old version of this page missed him, but viewers didn't: in r/KDRAMA's finale thread, one wrote "I think Gamin and Sehyeon's friendship is adorable and so is Jiu and Huiwon's."

Lee Ji-woo gets the most detail on AniList: she's Hyun-woo's older twin, a member of the Yusong High study group, a chemical engineering major and "skilled in Judo." Her best friend Choi Hee-won joins with her.
Lee Hyun-woo, the younger twin, is Ga-min's classmate. Lee Jun joins for the least academic reason possible: he's seen Ga-min fight.
Pi Han-wool and the people behind him

Pi Han-wool is the top of Yusung's pecking order. The drama introduces him as "a model second year student"; AniList adds the family tie: he's "the son of one of the directors of the White Lead Gang, Yeonbaek Phi." Cha Woo-min plays him, and a TVING preview clip bills their fight as Hwang Min-hyun against "Yusung Technical High School's #1 Cha Woo-min."
He doesn't fight alone. The drama gives him a right hand, Ma Min-hwan, "the closest associate of Han-wool" and part of the Yeonbaek Gang Quartet, and three third-years, the Yeonseo Three Chuls (Kim Sun-chul, Lee Dae-chul, Park Min-chul), who "serve as the top bodyguards of Han-wool." Their leader Sun-chul is the sympathetic one: he "has a desire for studying, but went on the wrong path due to circumstances," which makes him a mirror for Ga-min.

The wider YLAB cast
Study Group shares a world with other YLAB webtoons. AniList's relations list ties it to Get Schooled, Hanlim Gym, To Not Die and The World is Money and Power, and records a character crossover with Daejangjeon. You don't need any of them to follow the story, but if Ga-min's school is your thing, Get Schooled is the closest cousin, and Manhwa Like Study Group lists more.
Our take on the Study Group cast
Read Study Group for Ga-min and Se-hyun; stay for Han-kyung, even if she grates early. The cast is lean, so four names carry you a long way. If you only watched the drama, the webtoon gives Han-kyung the more interesting setup: a trainee chasing her own certificate, not just a teacher with a cause.
